MINORITIES WELFARE
The Department of Minorities Welfare was created in the year 1993. The primary objective of the Department is Socio Economic Development and Educational Advancement of Minorities in the State.
The main functions of the Department are :
Introduce schemes to promote accelerated socio economic development of minorities, Introduce educational concessions for students of minority communities, Implement schemes for development of women and children of minority communities, Provide training and employment opportunities, thereby tackling the problem of economic backwardness among minorities, Provide guidance to those in the minority communities wanting to set up entrepreneurial ventures etc.
The following Organizations are working under administrative control of the Minorities Welfare Department
- Telangana State Minorities Finance Corporation, Ltd., Hyderabad
- Telangana State Christian (Minorities) Finance Corporation, Ltd.,
- Telangana State Urdu Academy, Hyderabad.
The following schemes are under operation of the department.
- Pre & Post-Metric Scholarship
- Overseas Scholarships
- Residential Schools under Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society (TMREIS)
- Shaadi Mubarak. Now the scheme is transferred to R.D.O’s
- Economic Support scheme (Subsidy amount & bank loan)
- Grant-in-aid for Urdu Ghar cum Shaadi khanas
- Financial assistance Christians and Grant-in-aid for Churches (Telangana State Christian (Minorities) Finance Corporation)
Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society (TMREIS)
- Two TMREIS Schools are sanctioned during the academic year 2017-18.

- TMR School Bhupalpally (Boys) with a sanctioned strength of 240.
- TMR School Mulugu (Girls) with a sanctioned strength of 240.
- 240 students for 5th, 6th & 7th classes only and each class will have 80 students in (2) sections.
- Now functioning the (2) Residential schools in private rent buildings
The District Minorities Welfare Department was implemented the following schemes are shown below.
- Pre Matric Scholarships (Govt. of India )
Eligibility Criteria
- Students pursuing studies from class I to X in Government or Recognized Private Schools.
- Whose annual income of parent/guardian should not exceed Rs. 1.00 Lack.
Process of Applications is being made through website National Scholarship Portal (scholarships.gov.in)
- Post-Matric Scholarships & Fee Reimbursement (Govt. of Telangana)
The Post Metric Scholarships will be sanctioned to the Minority Students of Intermediate, Graduation, Post Graduation and Professional Courses to the economically backward Minority Students
Eligibility Criteria
- Students pursuing studies from class XI to Ph.D including Technical and vocational courses(These courses which are not covered in Merit Cum Means based Scholarships).
- Whose annual income of parent/guardian should not exceed Rs. 2.00 Lack
- Secured not less than 50% marks in the last final examination

Merit cum means Scholarships (Govt. of India )
Eligibility Criteria
- Students pursuing in listed courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level
Technical and professional
- Whose annual income of parent/guardian should not exceed Rs. 2.50
- Secured not less than 50% marks in the last final examination.
- Full fee Reimbursement to the students studying in All India Institutions.

Chief Minister’s Overseas Scholarship Scheme for Minorities
The Government of Telangana has issued orders to introduce a new scheme of “Overseas Study Scheme for Minorities” Overseas Scheme for the benefit of the students belonging to Minority community. Process of Applications is being made through telanganaepass.
Eligibility Criteria
- Whose annual income of parent/guardian should not exceed Rs. 2.00 Lack
- Secured not less than 60% marks in the last final examination
- Whose age not below 30 Years
- One child in the family one time Award Not more than one
- Countries eligible USA, UK, Australia , Canada and Singapore
- Candidate should have TOEFL/IELTS GRE/GMAT
- Candidate should have obtained admission in an accredited foreign university
ECONOMIC SUPPORT SCHEMES
The scheme is intended to assist minorities through Bank loan and subsidy for set up own industries, business, services and transport sector.
Eligibility Criteria
- Annual Income of the Beneficiary in Rural 1.50 Lakh in Urban 2.00 Lakh
- Age between 21 to 55 years
- Category I:- Loan Amount Below 1 lakh (Subsidy 80%,Bank loan 20%)
- Category II:- Loan Amount 1 lakh to below 2.00 Lakh(Subsidy 70%,Bank loan 30%)
- Category III:- Loan Amount 2.00 lakh to 10.00 Lakh(Subsidy 60%,Bank loan 40%)or 5.00 Lakh whichever is lower to the beneficiary
GUDUMBA ERADICATION SCHEME
The Gudumba Affected Persons Rehabilitation Scheme Jayashankar Bhupalpally District Minorities Welfare Department allotted for (01) beneficiaries @ 2.00 Lakhs for each and released an amount of Rs. 2,00,000/- (Rupees Two Lakhs only)under 100% subsidy. The Scheme does not have any bank loan component. The entire amount of the Scheme is grant to ensure smooth and speedy rehabilitation.
SHAADI MUBARAK SCHEME
The Shaadi Mubarak Scheme giving financial assistance for Minorities Brides amount is Rs.51,000/-(Rupees Fifty one thousand only) to each unmarried girl at the time of marriage residing in Telangana only. Process of Applications is being made through website https//telanganaepass.cgg.gov.in. The scheme was introduced from 02.10.2014. The scheme amount was enhanced from Rs. 51000/- to Rs. 75000/- with implemented from 01-04-2017 onwards, and again enhanced 75,000/- to 1,00,116/- with implementation from 01-04-2018 onwards.
SKILL DEVELOPMENT TRAINING & EMPLOYMENT
The T.S.M.F.C. is intended for up gradation of skills among minority Youth though providing free training in regard of soft skills and professional skills. Thus the youth of minorities are able to complete for jobs in the related industry and empower for their economic development
It is envisaged to provide free Training for Minority Unemployed Youth at four Levels through Residential Pattern. The selected candidates shall attend the training at Hyderabad in stipulated period.
Eligibility Criteria
- The family Income should be below Rs 1.5 Lakh in Rural and 2.00 Lakh in Urban
- The age limit should be between 18 to 35 for self Employment Courses.
- The preference shall be given to the female applicants
- The aspirants must be Unemployed/Underemployed.
STATE FESTIVALS RAMZAN
The Government has been decided to celebration of Ramzan Festival 2019. In connection with 1500 cloth gift packets ( for 4 members of the family) to each constituency and Rs. 3.00 Lakhs for dinner to entire state of Telangana.
STATE FESTIVALS CHRISTMAS
The Government has been decided celebration of Christmas feast 2018. In connection with 1000 cloth gift packets ( for 4 members of the family) to each constituency and Rs. 2.00 Lakhs for dinner to each constituency of entire Telangana State.
