PROHIBITION & EXCISE

The Government of Telangana have re-organized the existing Districts, Revenue Divisions and Mandals and formed new Districts, Revenue Divisions and Mandals in the State w.e.f. 11-10-2016 for administrative convenience in the interest of welfare of the public. In compliance with the orders of the Government, the Commissioner of Proh.& Excise, T.S., Hyderabad vide G.O.Ms.No.255, Revenue (Ex.II) Department, dated 11-10-2016 issued orders for re-organization and restructuring the jurisdiction of Proh.& Excise Stations in Telangana State and formation of Jayashankar Bhupalpally District and it is consisting of (10) Mandals with (2) Excise Stations namely Bhupalpally & Kataram.

Development activities/programs:

GEPRS (Gudumba Affected Persons Rehabilitation Scheme):

The Gudumba (Illicit Distillation) affected persons / families who depend on Gudumba for their survival needs special assistance for alternative sustainable livelihood so that they do not relapse into Gudumba related activities. The Gudumba affected persons would be rehabilitated with this scheme depending upon their skills, experience , interest and local conditions to ensure sustainable livelihood.

As per G.O Rt No.216, dt. 23.03.2017, the beneficiaries Identified (identification of beneficiaries are in accordance with eligibility criteria and norms prescribed in the G.O.) and sanctioned loan (100 % subsidy) in Jayashankar Dist. are ( 169 ),  in which ST- 96, SC-25, BC-47 & Others-1. Grounded all (169) units and functioning in the District. The details of grounding units are as follows.

• Animal Husbandry (Cattle, Sheep etc) – 76
• Kirana & General stores – 42
• Autos – 23
• Others -28

Haritha Haram: Target of Haritha Haram fixed district by the District Collector, Jayashankar for the year 2019-20 is ( 200000 ) toddy/Sendhi & Khajur trees shall be Planted in the year 2019-20, so far total (73350) plants were planted in Haritha Haram programme in the District .

Ex-gratia to Toddy tappers :   Govt. of Telangana is sanctioning Ex-gratia to toddy tappers who fell down from toddy tree and got injured/ deceased under Toddy Tappers Ex Gratia Scheme. 

Waiver of Toddy rentals : As per G.O. Ms No. 84, dated 20.07.2019, the outstanding arrears of Toddy shops have been waived in the District.

People friendly measures undertaken by the Officers: In Station limits the following people friendly measures have been taken as follows:

1) Conducted awareness programs on ill effects of consumption of Gudumba in villages.

2) Taken humanistic approach towards persons coming to Station /office

3) Pasted wall posters /banners/Pamphlets in all major villages at prominent places.

Gudumba Crime – Present status:

 At present due to taken all types of measures duly involving the various departments such as  Police, Revenue, Panchayat Raj, DRDA, Self Help Groups, DWAKRA groups etc., resulted about  98 % (approximately) of Gudumba  controlled in this District However in accordance with the instructions issued by the higher Officials, sincere efforts are being made in all aspects to control the menace of gudumba in the entire District.
